Review Methodology

How product reviews and comparisons should be evaluated.

This template separates product facts, buyer fit, source notes, and editorial opinion so each recommendation can be audited later.

Evaluation criteria

  • Buyer intent: what problem the product solves.
  • Fit: who should consider it and who should avoid it.
  • Tradeoffs: limitations, compatibility issues, recurring costs, or missing features.
  • Evidence: merchant specs, public documentation, first-party notes, or hands-on testing.

Hands-on testing claims

Only claim hands-on testing when the product data includes a testing note. Otherwise, say the page is based on source review and buyer criteria.
